A narrow, columnar hornbeam. Very similar in habit to Frans Fontaine. A great screening or privacy tree. Prefers full sun to part shade and even ground moisture. Contrary to what you read on the internet, Lucas hornbeams do not hold their leaves all winter. I find they lose them by late December in our climate.
